organic cotton baby clothes
Issue
We know the apparel industry is hard on our planet. As for children’s clothing, well, think of it this way: little bodies work hard to get big. With each growth spurt, pants get shorter, dresses get tighter, and t-shirts turn into crop tops. Time to size up.
Then there is the element of wear and tear. All the things we encourage kids to participate in every day — playing, exploring, experimenting — make those same pants, dresses, and tees dirtier, tackier, and sanctimonious. Time to change.
But back to the apparel industry. Mass production minimums mean that both big name and boutique brands have to place large orders with manufacturers. Most of the time, the clothes you see on store shelves (both virtual and IRL) won’t be fully sold out at the end of the season. Excess inventory, no matter how cute or out of season—remember, kids’ clothes won’t fall victim to passing trends like ours—is replaced by new styles. This results in piles and racks of fantastic, well-known and indie brand pieces just sitting in warehouses or worse. Time to do something about it.
Our solution
At Dupple, we want to do just that, in a meaningful way that shortens, and ultimately extends, the lifespan of children’s clothing. And since we’re overachievers, we also want to give clothing-buying adults a break on their credit card bills — and give them a gift a little earlier.
Stopping absolutely adorable, brand new overstock and past season pieces on their way to said warehouses and landfills is how we do it.
We bring clothes to our fulfillment center, where we bundle items from your favorite labels into handcrafted drops. (Yes, we have real-life stylists on staff to make sure each drop is tailored to your little one’s taste to a tee. Together with Treet, we want you to love your drop. In other words, to extend your children’s clothing journey beyond just your baby. Our resale marketplace, ReDopple, lets you pass on your pre-loved pieces to the next little one. Gives — and while you’re at it, earn some money for the next drop.
